Description[]
Finion is a tamable Heroic familiar found in the Black Pit around 900m. You must have a Finion mark, and the player must be wearing Modest Slayer Armor in order to tame it. He can spawn both tamable and untamable.
“Among the Monarchs of Stygaea, Finion is known as the Embodiment of Oblivion. Finion draws his terrible power from the stolen memories of the dead. Though one of the most powerful monarchs, a rare text uncovered in Stygaea suggests that Finion has a weakness hidden in the Low Slayer Armaments. A brave hero with the right equipment may be able to break the will of the king of oblivion.”
- ― From Bynder's "From the Shadows"
Strategy[]
Finion is airborne, therefore it is more difficult to hold his aggro. He hits extremely hard and has a melee range, and can knock most classes out with a few hits. He has an AoE called Oblivion Wave which has a charge bar. Finion also has an untamable version, with the same name (just like Jamirot and The Heroic Familiar Magnatu), who will have to be killed to give the tamable Finion a chance to spawn. He becomes tamable at roughly 80% like Calypos does, and can be jumped then. It would be a good idea to bring a friend or a small group to get his HP down quickly and to find him in the first place. He flies clockwise around the entire Black Pit at around 900 metres in the sky. Finion has a 6 hour respawn timer.
How to Tame[]
A player must have a Finion Mark, the recipe of which drops from World Bosses in Stygaea and Jamirot. Eregos and Karon and the rest of the heroics also have a good chance of dropping a Finion Mark. The player also must be equipped in Modest Slayer armor. This armor cannot be crafted, because it requires an ingredient that can't be crafted in this version of the game (Karnin's Bound Spirit). However, despite this, obtaining the armor set is not too difficult to do. The mobs inside the Dread Citadel have a small chance of dropping pieces of Modest Slayer gear. They also drop a very good amount of Stygaea coins, which can be used to buy level 45 PvP Enigma Chests at Freemen Village. These chests contain a random piece of class-specific Modest Slayer gear. You only need the armor, not the jewelry or the weapons. When all five armor pieces are equipped and you have the Mark, you can tame Finion. For grinding the mobs, I recommend tempered Alsacian or Temmajin gear. The pieces of gear are untradable.
