Blue = King Franco Rabbini's location on the map.

Gros's small size and ornery nature earned it the nickname "grumpy". However, I have discovered that the little boar's stature actually helps it maintain itself in an environment so sparse with food. It has evolved well to handle the dangerous climate. Many other animals and hunters attempt to prey on Gros. This is always a mistake. I have seen Gros exhibit massive bursts of power to defend itself from a predator. Thus, I recommend a seal stone to weaken it before attempting taming. The power of Cold-Tusk and a snowcap boar ought to make you a less threatening target.

Strategy[]

Before attempting to tame Grumpy Gros, it is recommended to clear the boars in an area around him in order to avoid the risk of them interfering with the attempt.

How to Tame[]

Tamed Grumpy Gros

(Mounted picture: Grumpy Gros)

In order to tame Grumpy Gros, the player must possess a Gros Mark. The recipe to craft this mark can be found by killing King Franco Rabbini. The drop rate of the recipe is low and players should expect having to farm him for a while in order to obtain it. Since King Franco Rabbini is a quest mob, his spawn timer is relatively short; meaning he spawns every 60 seconds or so at the same location. His mark can also drop off the enemies in Broken Caldera in Exarahn Badlands.

Once you've obtained the recipe and crafted the mark, head over to the east of Lake of Life where the Whitecap Boars reside. If Grumpy Gros is not among them, you'll need to defeat the other boars until Grumpy Gros replaces one of them. As he is an Elite mount, it is recommended that you lower his HP before you attempt to tame him.
